I first found a home with FÖDA Studio in Austin, Texas. Under the guidance of creative director and mentor, Jett Butler, I had the opportunity to practice thoughtful, inspired design on a daily basis. Together we provided research and strategy, brand concept development, and production oversight – all of which culminated in many awards, publications, an impressive body of work, and some dumb inside jokes.
In 2012, I signed on as the creative director of a global artificial intelligence company, tasked with redesigning and managing the company’s brand and identity system. The transition from designing identities for others, to creating and utilizing one firsthand in-house, offered a new perspective and a unique set of challenges.
In 2017, I transitioned to operating my family business — my mother’s brainchild, Mari’s List. After 30 years in orthodontic sales, she created a membership-based study club and buying group exclusively for orthodontists.
The group has grown to 2500 members and 150 vendors in the past 10 years. I now run day-to-day operations as well as marketing, website maintenance, and tradeshow design.
I’ve worked with a broad range of clientele: restaurants, architecture firms, real estate companies, art galleries, public speakers and consultants, an art film theater, and even a jazz quartet. My experience with such a diverse array of clients makes me comfortable working with local businesses, large companies and everything in between.
I live in beautiful Austin, Texas with my husband, Andy, and our dog Joey.
